Welcome to St Wilfrid’s Primary School, a Catholic voluntary academy for boys and girls aged 4-11 in the south west of Sheffield. At St Wilfrid’s, there is an incredibly strong Catholic ethos, which run through everything that we do. In our school, every individual will have the opportunity to know God and to develop spiritually through daily collective worship, reflection and prayer.
As a Catholic school, our aim is that every child achieves their full potential as an individual made in the image and likeness of God. This encompasses every dimension of the child: spiritual, moral, social, academic, physical and artistic. Our vision is that children will learn to be good citizens of the world, enriching society through a positive contribution to their community and beyond. Our curriculum is the vehicle through which we support and nurture children to achieve this potential.
We believe that knowledge empowers and enables children to feel and be successful, and that this is the entitlement of every child.
In the delivery and planning of our curriculum, we respect each subject discipline while endeavouring to make use of knowledge crossover and natural links to embed powerful knowledge.
The school’s educational offer is underpinned by the four core values of faith, aspiration, effort and respect. As a school, we believe that all children can and will achieve exceptionally well therefore the mastery curriculum ensures that the teaching provides them with exactly what they need in order to master key concepts.
As headteacher, I am extremely ambitious for the school and my aim is for St Wilfrid’s to become a world-class Catholic school and a centre for excellence.
Finally, I can thoroughly recommend a visit to the school during the school day to see the exciting learning in action.
