Poetry competition

In October we received information about a poetry competition. The winning poems would be published in a poetry book so we decided to enter poems into the competition. The classes involved were Year2/3, Year3 and Year 4. We have recently found out that 61 poems have been selected to be published. Along with this information are letters for parents inviting you to order copies of the books- at a cost of £18. We  now know that that it can only loosely be described as a poetry competition as it is clearly a publishing company wanting to take advantage of as many parents as possible for their own financial gain. Please do not feel obliged in any way to purchase a copy of the book. There will be no financial benefit to school.

We always follow Sheffield LEA guidance on child protection issues and because of this we did not send surnames of the children so only Christian names will appear in the book. Letters for the children involved will be handed out in the first week back at school.

Happy Christmas!

A big thank you to everyone for all your cards, gifts and Christmas wishes. Your children have been a delight to teach this term! Thank you also for your support this term with reading at home and other homework tasks. The extra work your children do at home really does make a difference. There is no homework set for the Christmas holiday period. If they feel like me they will be ready for a rest! I hope your children return to school rested and ready for the new challenges ahead.

Best wishes to you all for a wonderful festive season.

Party

The children can wear party clothes for the party on Tuesday. There will be party games in the morning and food in the afternoon. If you didn’t sign up for anything in particuar then any food will be gratefully received.
