Your child should have brought a Reading Journal home today for the Spring term. May I remind you that as per last term, one of these activities needs to be completed each week and then the whole booklet returned at the end of term. Children should also note the names of any books they are reading at home and add comments in the Reading Log.
Many, many children have not returned these for the Autumn term. Thank-you to those parents who have made sure they have been completed and sent in. The tasks set are based around what your child needs to achieve in English this year – such as character descriptions, adventurous vocabulary, expressing opinions with justifications etc. The more practise children get doing such tasks, especially with a degree of independence, obviously the easier they will find this, so if you can please ensure the Reading Journals are completed this term I would be very grateful.
