It was lovely to see all the children after our 2 week break. We have had a good week and the children are quickly slipping back into the routines of the class.
We had a super session in RE where the children thought about what was involved in a celebration and they were so good at working collaboratively to plan a celebration in small groups.
It was wonderful to see that the children have obviously been practising their reading over the holidays and they have worked hard in our phonics sessions over the week.
In our number work the children were working on number ordering and recognition. They seem to enjoy our new washing line in the classroom which this week had numbers to 20 . Next week (14.1.13) we are moving on to look at calculations and number bonds to 10. Our washing line will be changing to air flow balls so that the children can create their own calculations and visually see those number bonds.
We enjoyed getting messy making wellie prints for our large display outside the classroom. I think I got more paint on me than the children though ! I hope you like our new display.
