This week the children have worked very hard in literacy to produce a recount of the trip to Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet and an information text about the Victorians. If you have any time at the end of the day to call in and see the work, please feel free to do so.
Spelling
Next week in maths we will be learning about time. Please help your child to read and spell the days of the week and the months of the year.
Maths
As we will be learning to tell the time this week, please help your child to become more aware of time in general. e.g. point out what time it is at various times in the day and talk about how long activities like football, swimming and dance classes last. Fun timing activities could speed up how long it takes your child to get dressed, tidy their bedroom etc.
Reading
When you read with your child, please ask them to summarise what they have just read. As well as finding out if your child has understood what they have read it will help them to pick out the key facts. This is an important skill we are using to develop note making techniques.
