Homework 6.12.13

Homework 6.12.13

Geography

As part of our topic about India we have been looking at how many people in the remote villages in India do not have running water in their homes. This led to a discussion about how we use water. We identified which water uses are essential and which are non-essential. Please help your child to fill in the sheet about the different ways they use water in one day and help them to think of ways to save water. The children will create leaflets next week in school to educate others about how they can reduce their water use.

Maths

Please encourage your child to look at bottles and containers of liquid to see how much they contain (eg shampoo bottles, juice cartons, bottles of sauce) .  After looking at a few please ask your child to estimate before looking at the label.

We have been working with fractions this week. Please ask your child to work out how much would be in each container if they were half full or a quarter full. They could check their calculations using a calculator.

RE

We will be retelling parts of the Nativity story in RE/literacy lessons. Please help your child to learn to spell essential related vocabulary.
