SUFC match versus Charlton Sat 2nd October

I managed to acquire some free tickets for the football match involving Sheffield United and top of the league Charlton Athletic. Almost 50 children (plus a parent/guardian for each) attended. Although the result wasn’t the desired one if you were a United fan , a good afternoon out was had by all.

I’ll see if I can get  free tickets from the Blue and White side of the city in the near future!

Cross Country at Ecclesfield Primary school

Ecclesfield Primary School 17/9/2011

Well done to all those children who took part in the first Cross Country event of the year. All the children deserve great credit for the effort they put in. In particular those who were running for the first time and didn’t know what to expect.20 children in total across the Y4 ,Y5 and Y6 age groups was a fantastic turnout. Well done especially to Miriam Curtis and Charlotte Read who finished 3rd and 9th respectively in the Y4 girls race out of 79 runners. An excellent performance by Hugo Braddock in the Y4 boys race finishing 8th out of 108 and Francesca Shield’s amazing effort to finish 3rd out of 114.

A real big pat on the back to all the other runners……….Sol Civico 26th,Michael Goodchild 39th,Will Downes 69th and Matthew Worne 78th (boys y4 race)………Natasha Gillespie 41st, Mollie Haslam 69th,Veronica Gillespie 72nd, Juilette Parkin 90th Y5/6 Girls race)………………Joe Lomas 17th, Conor Plunkett 28th, Jack Read 37th, Alex Parker 46th, Toby Dos Santos 77th, Jamie Southeard 103rd, Archie Braddock 126th out of over 160! We really could do with a few more Y4 girls as we need a minimum of 4 girls for a team .All abilities welcome .!

The next race is on Saturday 8th October at Hallam Primary School no later than 9.40am.

Fantastic afternoon had by all the children at Abbeydale Cricket Ground for the annual cricket and rounders event. Schools including ourselves,Dore, Totley, Ecclesall, St Maries , Westbourne, Nether Green and Totley all Saints had a great time playing cricket and rounders. Some great performances by the children. The  boys reached the final of the cricket with some impressive bowling and plenty of boundaries in all 3 matches. The girls had lots of fun in the rounders, winning one of their matches with an amazing 10 and a half rounders from 30 balls. Following refreshments provided by Westbourne, both teams received a trophyand a commemorative t shirt for their efforts. All in all a fun event which we look forward to attending next year.
