Weekly Maths tests and help at home

Parents,
Just to let you know that I have started to test your child weekly in Maths. Last year I followed the tests by a session that focused on the teaching of any areas of concern and this worked very well. Usually this meant that all children went on to see their scores go up by at least one mark weekly, which was then rewarded by a housepoint for effort.
Each week I will send you a copy of your child’s results for extra practice at home. Just focusing on 2 questions a week will see improvements in both results and confidence. I’m sure you will appreciate that those children who do have the benefit of 1-1 help at home, really are the children that then go on to see more rapid progress.
