Welcome Back!

Welcome Back!

Welcome back to school and to Year 3. I am very much looking forward to teaching my new class and getting to know you all. I hope you will find the following information useful.

PE will be on Thursday/ Friday of each week and I would appreciate it if all children have a full PE kit in school ready for this. Water bottles are encouraged in class as it is important that children stay hydrated and it minimises disruptions with children going out for drinks. If you do provide a water bottle, may I ask that you please ensure your child remembers to take it home for washing/ re-filling every day.

As part of our History topic we will be visiting Eyam in October, full details will follow separately. Any research at home on the topic of the plague and the story of how it affected Eyam would be very useful.

In terms of homework, your child will bring home spellings to learn, and regular numeracy/ literacy tasks. A reading journal will also be completed in school and it will be most appreciated if you assist in this by continuing to listen to your child read regularly at home and encouraging them to read independently.

I will enter a separate document about the other topics we will be covering and if there are any questions please do not hesitate to ask.
