Y4 Hotshot Basketball Success

Y4 Hotshot Basketball Success

Well done to the 10 children who competed  in the Links School Sports Partnership Hotshots Sheffield City Finals for Y4s at All Saints Goal Centre on Monday afternoon.

Having already qualified from their cluster meeting as winners a few weeks ago, the Y4s were now up against 1 other schools from across the city including Marlcliffe, Pipworth, Mundella, Stocksbridge and St Maries.

Each match consisted of 2 x 4 minute halves. 2 boys and 2 girls played the first half and then the other 2 boys and girls played the second half.

Throughout the tournament  all the children showed great determination coupled with plenty of basketball skills!!

In the first 6 matches St Wilfrid’s managed to win 5 and lose one and progressed to the semi final with ease.

In a tight match against St Catherine’s the children secured a close victory , winning by 6 points to two!

The final was again a close affair, this time a strong Marlcliffe team winning by 6 points. This however did not dampen the spirits of the children once they realised that they had a secured a place in the Y4 Hotshots Regional finals at the English Institute of Sport on March 18th.

Many thanks to all the parents who came and supported us in the afternoon.
