History
This week we have been learning more about Egyptians. The children have been allocated a topic to research, and on Monday they will put their information together to teach the rest of the class about what they have learned. Your child knows what area they have been researching. The topics are: farming, death, houses, Pharoahs, religion. Please encourage your child to complete further research for their group. Next week the children will write an information text about Egyptians, so any extra research will be beneficial for this last piece of writing.
Mummy
We have some tomatoes at school which are mummifying. When they are mummies we will need coffins for them. Some children are keen to make a coffin at home (a small box decorated with shiny paper, paints, felt tips etc). If your child would like to make a coffin at home then please get them to bring it into school by Wednesday when we will open the mummy box.
Spelling
Please help your child to learn some topic words. Some of these words are very difficult and I do not expect the children to learn to spell them all. Please encourage your child to learn at least the words in bold. They use a topic word list when writing in school to help with other spellings.

When we know the songs a little better we will invite you into school at the end of the day for a short concert.
Thank you
