ICT – Animation

The children in our class are becoming very confident using Purple Mash. Each Wednesday we are working with Mrs Sadler to learn new ICT skills. So far the children have used the programme ‘2 animate’ to create a simple animation, they can access this work on their PC at home as it has been saved on-line. If any-one cannot remember their Purple Mash log-in please come and see Mrs Goodchild or Mrs Coles and we will give it to you.

In the following weeks we are going to be filming our own animation of ‘The Hungry Caterpillar. Please can children bring in resources which will help make the props for the film e.g. paper towel holders and other junk materials that can make the caterpilla or food for the story.

Homework 2nd March 2012

Look around your home and at the buildings near where you live to see how many different types of stone you can find.

Try to find some small pieces of stone and use the internet to identify them. Please bring interesting examples to school and we will create a display with them.

Learn to spell the days of the week and the months of the year. Remember to use a capital letter to begin each name.

Look at the calculation targets to remind yourself about which level you are working on. Practise calculating numbers at the level you are working on.

  1. Number pairs to 10 (first learn pairs to make 10  eg 2 + 8,  6 + 4,  then learn pairs to make 4,5,6,7,8,9)
  2. Multiples of 10 to make 100
  3. Doubles up to 10 + 10
